Exploring the gorges at the foot of the Zugspitze

Canyoning in the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena

Ready to not just admire the most beautiful gorges of the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena from a distance but experience them up close? Canyoning is an extraordinary adventure in nature – adrenaline rushes included. Mountain lovers who’ve always wanted to explore a gorge from top to bottom can do so on the Tyrolean side of the Zugspitz Arena.

Did you know? In German, the canyoning sport is also called “Schluchtenwandern” (gorge hiking).

Climbing, abseiling, jumping and sliding, and then a dive into the cold water: Canyoning exudes a very special fascination. For many nature-loving adventurers, it’s the perfect summer activity to challenge body and mind. In the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena, awe-inspiring waterfalls, impressive rock faces and turquoise waters provide a stunning setting for canyoning adventures.

The must-haves for canyoning: a neoprene suit, a climbing harness, sturdy footwear, a helmet and a rope.
