Experience real winter - feel the freedom
Winter activities away from the slopes

The Tiroler Zugspitz Arena also offers a wide range of winter activities away from the slopes:  From action-packed toboggan runs to idyllic winter and snowshoe hikes, which can often be conveniently combined with a stop at a mountain hut. Llama hikes and open-air ice skating on the artificial ice rink in Ehrwald provide special experiences.
Those who prefer something a little more romantic can book a horse-drawn sleigh ride or a torch-lit hike.
Here you'll find flexible ways to enjoy your winter - relaxed or active.

Tracks in the snow and winter silence

Winter hiking and snowshoeing

If you are looking for the real winter - quiet, powerful and full of winter magic - you will find it here, on the sunny side of the Zugspitze. Far away from the hustle and bustle, over 60 kilometers of well-maintained winter hiking trails and varied snowshoe tours lead through snow-covered forests in front of a unique mountain panorama.

Your easy way to unique viewpoints & huts

Cable cars and lifts for non-skiers

In winter, the regions' cable cars and lifts offer a convenient way to reach viewing points and huts, even without skis or snowboards.
Many lifts have special pedestrian rates - ideal for winter hikers, connoisseurs or guests with baby carriages.

Experience the Zugspitze in torchlight

Torchlight Hiking

Evening torchlight hikes conjure up a magical atmosphere: flickering light, clear air and quiet winter paths. Ideal for couples, families or small groups looking for a special nature experience. The torchlight hikes are even free of charge with the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena guest card.

Tobogganing by day and night

Tobogganing

Tobogganing fans will find plenty of options in the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena: long, action-packed runs in Lermoos and Biberwier, family-friendly slopes in Berwang, and atmospheric night tobogganing on the brightly lit slope in Ehrwald. Whether relaxed by day or spectacular beneath the stars — toboggan fun is guaranteed here.

Glistening ice. Clear winter air. And a touch of alpine tradition.

Ice skating and Alpine curling

Ice skating and curling have a long history in Tyrol - and can be experienced in a special atmosphere in the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena. On the artificial ice rink in Ehrwald, young and old glide across the glistening ice, accompanied by the view of snow-covered peaks and crackling cold air.

Curling is where sporting ambition meets sociable moments - deeply rooted in Alpine tradition. Winter shows one of its most beautiful sides here - clear, glistening and shared.
