"Der Bär" - Distillery

Typical Tyrolean specialties and highlights

The schnapps distillery in Berwang has been around for more than 30 years. Fine brandies and liqueurs are produced here using the best ingredients from Austria. In addition to the well-known schnapps varieties, such as gentian, fruit brandy and apricot, specialties are also offered. These include hay flower brandy and rose medlar brandy. If you would like to learn more about the art of distilling schnapps, you can take part in a course. Herbal courses and schnapps tastings are also available on request.

  • Interviewpartner: Father, Wolf Rosen
  • Nickname: The Bear
  • You can find us here: Berwang 68
  • Our products: Typical Tyrolean & Austrian specialties from the wood-fired oven with fresh herbs, herbal courses, mountain hay flower brandy, rose medlar brandy and various types of schnapps
  •  We have been around since: more than 30 years
  • My passion: Sailing, flying and horses
  • Local products mean to me: „For me, "local foods" means giving guests a reason to come to Berwang. We produce our own schnapps, such as mountain hay flower brandy. This requires special scythe hay, which is only available here in Tyrol. We get our hay from Lähn-Wengle.“
  • What makes us special: „Absolute care is taken in our distillery. It is run exclusively by the family. Above all, we take care not to use any chemicals. This means that we only use unsprayed fruit and know all our products. This also reflects our motto "Wellness for the stomach"."
