Convenient access to unique viewpoints and huts
Winter mountain railways for pedestrians

In winter, the lifts and cable cars also take visitors without skis or snowboards quickly and comfortably up into the alpine mountains: whether it's a panoramic platform, a mountain hut or a sunny winter hike, discover the unique Tyrolean winter landscape on the sunny side of the Zugspitze from a whole new perspective.

Comfortably to 2,962 m — panorama, museums & mountain delights

Tiroler Zugspitzbahn

The Tiroler Zugspitzbahn is a true classic in the region: fast, wheelchair and pram friendly, and a unique experience in every season. You can expect a genuine natural snow experience and clear views with breathtaking vistas of up to 400 Alpine peaks. The panorama restaurant, the "Faszination Zugspitze" adventure museum and the "BAHNORAMA anno 1926" cable car museum round off the Zugspitze experience.

Taste the heights above Ehrwald

Ehrwalder Almbahn

The Ehrwalder Almbahn cable car takes pedestrians and non-skiers comfortably up to the Ehrwalder Alm and the Tirolerhaus — perfect for a leisurely meal with mountain views. The mountain station of the cable car is also an ideal starting point for winter hikes. You can find more information about winter hikes and the corresponding tours here.

Lermoos - Grubigstein

Grubigsteinbahn

The Grubigsteinbahn cable car allows pedestrians to quickly immerse themselves in the unique mountain world from Lermoos. Pedestrians travel to the middle station, where the Brettlalm (currently undergoing renovation; reopening expected in December 2025) is located right next to the middle station. From there, you can enjoy the view or even ride down the toboggan run.
Alternatively, you can continue on to the Grubigalm or the Gubigstein summit hut (Grubighütte) and enjoy one of the best panoramic views in the region.

Biberwier - Marienberg

Marienbergbahn

The Marienbergbahn lifts in Biberwier comfortably transports pedestrians to authentic huts with beautiful views of the region: the first chairlift takes you to the Waldhaus Talblick, and the second section continues up to the Sunnalm – ideal for a leisurely stop.

Berwang & Bichlbach

Bergbahnen Berwang

The Berwang mountain railways offer special pedestrian fares and are an easy, comfortable way to start winter hut visits and hikes (You can find more information about winter hikes and the corresponding tours here). Whether with the Egghof Sun Jet, the Sonnalmbahn in Berwang or the Almkopfbahn in Bichlbach — the cable cars and chairlifts take visitors quickly and comfortably to mountain huts with unique views such as the Heiterwanger Hochalm or the Das View - The Pop-Up. Prams and dogs are even transported free of charge.
