ZIEGENPETERHOF
From milk and ice cream to cheese and meat
Around 50 chamois-colored mountain goats live on the Ziegenpeterhof farm in Ehrwald. Ice cream, yoghurt, milk, semi-hard cheese, cream cheese and soft cheese: the Ziegenpeterhof shows just how versatile goat's milk can be. Goat sausages and meat are also available on the farm. Visitors who would like to find out more about production are best advised to take part in a guided tour of the organically farmed goat farm. The many delicacies are sold directly on site or in the village and farm stores in the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena.
Our Hero
A Profile
- My business: Ziegenpeterhof,
- My name: Florian Senftlechner
- Nickname: Senf
- You can find us here: Lähngraben 10 in Ehrwald
- What's special about my farm: "We have around 50 goats on our farm. Each goat has its own name & its own characteristic. Our farm has also been certified organic twice since 1996."
- My passion: goats, cheese and hay
- My farm has been around since: "It all started with my grandmother. She had a farm with 4 goats. In 1996, my father Peter moved into the Ziegenpeterhof with 15 goats, and there are now around 50. I also inherited my passion for goats from him."
- To me, local production means: ... "that our products are sold no further than 50 km from Ehrwald. We make our own hay and produce the feed for our goats ourselves. So our animals get the best feed and produce the best milk. In addition, the animals can graze on our farm and have plenty of exercise."
