Stand-up paddle boarding in the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena
Stand-up paddle boarding is a trend sport – and that’s no surprise: It lets nature lovers enjoy the beauty of the surrounding scenery while standing on a board gently floating on the lake. In the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena, you can go paddle boarding at one of the most enchanting lakes in the Alps: Lake Heiterwanger See. From there, you can paddle all the way over to Lake Plansee via a connecting channel.
What are you waiting for? Time to go down to the water, hop onto your board – and then, let’s go!
Have you heard of the new trend sport: SUP?
On the Tyrolean side of the Zugspitze, the trendy sport of stand-up paddle boarding – also called stand-up paddle surfing – combines water sports with being in the mountains. All you need is a SUP board and a paddle … then you can gently glide over the smooth surface of the water. At the same time, it keeps you fit. Because stand-up paddle boarding not only trains your sense of balance but also taxes numerous muscles during every movement.
SUP tours on Lake Heiterwanger See
From May to September, the stand-up paddle boarding station at Lake Heiterwanger See offers SUP rental equipment and a varied programme for water sports enthusiasts. You could go paddle boarding at sunrise or sunset, for instance, or participate in special yoga classes. What’s more, you’ll have the option of booking unique event highlights there: birthdays, company events, an excursion with your friends – you decide! Optionally, you can also combine your SUP experience with a breakfast or barbecue by the lake.
Tip: SUP tours by night! Equipped with LED lights, you can watch the stars from your stand-up paddle board out on the lake.
