Mountain bike action on the Grubigstein: downhill race series makes a stop in the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena

On Saturday, 19 July 2025, the Lermoos-Biberwier Bike Park in the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena will be the stage for exciting downhill sport. As part of the auner Austrian Gravity Series (aAGS) powered by Cycling Austria, up-and-coming riders, amateur athletes and experienced racers will come together for a race day full of action, adrenaline and mountain bike passion.

Downhill racing is no longer just a sport for professionals: aAGS brings racing to an accessible level - and makes it possible for everyone to experience it. Whether as a racer on the bike or as a fan along the course: the race Saturday at Grubigstein promises excitement, speed and action-packed moments for everyone.

The Race in the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena

The event begins on Friday, 18 July, with the track inspection. This gives participants the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the course and make final fine adjustments to the setup.
The race day on Saturday, 19 July, will be as follows:

• 09:00-12:00: Compulsory training
• 13:00: Seeding run (qualifying run)
• 15:30: Final race
• Afterwards: Award ceremony

The venue is the Bikepark Lermoos-Biberwier, which offers ideal conditions for an exciting race of the auner Austrian Gravity Series with its varied course and alpine panorama. Since this year, the bike park has also been part of the Gravity Card, making it even more attractive for riders from all over Europe. The race course is located on the Schlägle Trail (also known as Forest Thunder) on the Grubigstein. The character of the 1.9 kilometre long trail is very natural, with roots, stones and forest floor and has a difference in altitude of 344 metres. There are also a number of built elements such as berms.

For spectators & fans

Anyone who would rather cheer on than ride along is cordially invited to experience the event up close. Running parallel to the route, the hiking trail "zur Wolfratshauser Hütte" offers ideal spectator points - please be sure to follow the instructions of the marshals and do not enter the route itself (there is a danger to life!).
Admission is free, parking is available on site and catering is also provided.

Participation & registration

Participation is open to everyone - from ambitious hobby riders to experienced racers.

• Entry fee: 50 €, incl. mountain railway ticket for Saturday
• Prerequisite: valid ÖRV racing licence (cost: € 60)
• Registration deadline: 16 July, midnight

About the series

The auner Austrian Gravity Series is an Austrian downhill mountain bike racing series for everyone. With one-day events, it provides a low-threshold introduction to downhill racing. It was initiated in 2017 by a working group consisting of the ÖRV, the Austrian mountain bike magazine LINES, race organisers and riders. In the 2025 season, the aAGS comprises eight races from May to October in the federal states of Lower Austria, Tyrol, Carinthia, East Tyrol and Salzburg.
