Ein Berg. Sieben Orte. Einzigartiger Urlaub.

Lake Heiterwang

The Heiterwanger See is located at an altitude of nearly 1,000 meters in Tyrol and is connected to the Plansee via a narrow canal – together they form the second-largest body of water in Tyrol.

The lake impresses with crystal-clear, turquoise water and a fjord-like landscape, surrounded by steep, wooded mountain slopes. This unique backdrop makes it one of the most beautiful natural lakes in the region.

There are many opportunities for recreation around the lake: swimming, stand-up paddling, boating, fishing (with a license), and pleasant hikes – for example, on the popular circular trail around the lake. A boat trip is also possible – one of the highest in Austria.

An ideal spot for nature lovers, families, and anyone looking to enjoy peace and fresh mountain air.

Directly at the lake, there is a paid parking area that provides convenient access. The hotel & restaurant "Fischer am See" ensures that visitors are well-fed and also offers boat rentals. Families will appreciate a small playground nearby as well as access to the digital experience trail "Treasure Hunt with Finn." Public restrooms can be found at the hotel, rounding out the offerings.
