The most beautiful lakes in the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena

Water as far as the eye can see

Heiterwanger See

Crystal clear, turquoise blue and always with a view towards the mountains, that is what the lakes of the region promise.

At the gate of the Tyrolean Zugspitz Arena is the Heiterwanger See which is very famous in summer for its boat trips with the MS Margarethe and MS Wilhelm. But also with the rowing boat or the electric boat, you can enjoy the lake without getting wet.
Especially popular is also the new trend sport, the Stand-Up-Paddling. At the Heiterwanger See you can also "SUP" at any time, whether at sunrise or sunset, or even at night on the specially LED-lit board.

Blindsee

Below the Fernpass, the Blindsee is located in the middle of a wooded mountain landscape. Not only for bathers but also for divers a real highlight.
The formations of tree trunks, which have been resting in the lake for a long time, offer an impressive underwater world.

Mittersee
The Mittersee, near Biberwier, is one of the warmest lakes in the region. With its 22 degrees Celsius it is a popular bathing lake for young and old.
A tip for all summer holidaymakers is the 3-lake hike, on which you can discover the Mittersee, Blindsee and Weißensee.
Igelsee

At the foot of the Igelkopf, hikers will find a small lake, called Igelsee. Depending on the weather, the lake is sometimes more and sometimes less visible.
Surrounded by a pasture landscape, the lake is especially popular with grazing animals.

Drachensee

The Drachensee is slightly hidden just above the Seebensee.
The highest lake in the region at 1,910 metres is perhaps too frosty for swimming, but nevertheless worth a visit.

Seebensee

Last but not least, probably the most famous lake and one of the figureheads of the Tyrolean Zugspitz Arena: the Seebensee.
A natural jewel with turquoise-blue water like in the Caribbean, in the middle of the impressive mountain world, with a view of the Wetterstein massif. And thus not for nothing one of the most popular photo spots.
