The MAXXIS BIKE Transalp 2024 - pure adrenaline!

From July 14 to July 20, the participants of the BIKE Transalp 2024 went head-to-head in an action-packed race on the route from Ehrwald to Lake Garda.

“The BIKE Transalp celebrated its 26th edition this year and is one of the oldest stage races in the world,” explains Jan Leschinski, Project Manager at Yunique GmbH. “Around 450 participants from 35 nations took part this year.” Amateur riders and professionals alike took on the challenging crossing of the Alps.

The route of the BIKE Transalp 2024

The route of the BIKE Transalp 2024 led through some of the most beautiful landscapes in Europe and was full of highlights. The start was in Ehrwald, where the Zugspitze provided an impressive backdrop to the start. At the end of the journey, the Mediterranean flair of Lake Garda awaited the athletes - a well-deserved reward after seven days of intense exertion.

A total of around 520 kilometers and more than 17,000 meters of altitude were covered. “The route leads through places like Ehrwald, Imst, Nauders, Lake Reschen, Bormio, Malé, Roncone and Arco,” says Leschinski. This year, the team competition of the “Elite Men” and “Elite Women”, which has UCI “S1” status, provided even more electrifying thrills.
This is because the BIKE Transalp 2024 has taken the e-bike boom of recent years into account with its new EMTB format. Each stage featured a battery exchange station for the EMTB Transalp participants. The 25 candidates completed the route of the regular Transalp, but started at a different time and in their own format.

A highlight for the bike community

“The BIKE Transalp is becoming increasingly international and brings together cycling enthusiasts from all over the world,” enthuses Leschinski. Every year, a team of 150 organizers and helpers creates an unforgettable cycling experience.
The planning of the route for the BIKE Transalp 2025 is already in full swing. With exciting new stages and further improvements, the next edition promises to be another highlight in the mountain bike scene's calendar.
