Berwang - Roter Stein from Berwang via Älpelestal
The demanding hike to the Roter Stein begins at the car park Sonnalmbahn at the entrance of Berwang opposite the chairlift Berwanger Sonnalmbahn. Follow the road uphill towards the center of the village to the Heimatmuseum. Turn left there and follow the paved road, keep right after about 50 meters and go into the district Gröben. Pass the village Gröben until the road turns into a wide gravel path. Here the hiking trail no. 612 rises slightly through the valley Älpelestal along the brook Älpelesbach up to the Älpele 1.663 m. Once there, there is a crossing. The path continues in the left direction, signposted Roter Stein (on the right you get to the Joch and the Hönig mountain). Now the path runs steeply uphill (only for experienced hikers) through rocky terrain to the summit Roter Stein 2.366 m.
