Bike & hike from Ehrwald
The tour starts in the center of Ehrwald, follows the Dr.-Ludwig-Ganghofer-Straße southeast out of the village and leads to the valley station of the Ehrwalder Almbahn. From there, the route climbs very steeply on the concrete alpine road up to Ehrwalder Am at an altitude of around 1,500 meters. Alternatively, you can take the cable car (charges apply). The route leads past the Tirolerhaus and over the Gaisbach stream in a south-westerly direction before another steep section follows. The route then climbs gently through shady forest to the Seebenalm at 1,574 meters. From there, the trail becomes steeper and rockier again up to the Seebensee lake at 1,657 meters.
Once you reach the lake, cycle along the left bank to the valley station of the material cable car to the Coburger Hütte, where you can leave your bike. The footpath to the Coburger Hütte leads over green ground and many hairpin bends and requires about 250 meters of ascent. At the hut, you can stop for refreshments or even spend the night. The challenging Tajakante via ferrata is ideal for experienced climbers. The way back to the valley station follows the same route.
