Culinary delights in Northern Tyrol

Holiday guests of the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena can go on a culinary journey of exploration year-round. In Lermoos, for instance, the culinary adventure market takes place on four days in September. Beer connoisseurs will enjoy a visit to Hotel Thaneller in Rinnen/Berwang with its Stadl-Bräu – Austria’s highest Alpine home brewery. And Linzgieseder – a charming family business in Ehrwald – is known for its handcrafted premium spirits.

Dining in extraordinary locations

In the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena, you can enjoy a scrumptious meal in a unique location – at 2,962 metres above sea level. Diverse event highlights boast culinary and scenic pleasures. Two of these highlights on the Zugspitze are the sunrise cable car ride including summit breakfast and the cosy fondue evening at sunset. At Almkopfbahn, you can savour a hearty “Weisswurst” breakfast and the unique “Genussgondeln” experience. What do all these offers have in common? What does the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena taste like? That’s what holiday guests can find out during a visit to the many local producers. At various locations throughout the region, you can taste and buy homemade regional specialities. Traditional Tyrolean delicacies to either savour on site or take home with you – the delicious premium products are also great gifts for your loved ones at home.

Ziegenpeterhof

Ice cream, cream cheese, yogurt, milk, hard and soft cheese: Ziegenpeterhof shows how versatile goat milk can be. Visitors who would like to find out about its manufacture should take part in a guided tour of the organic dairy farm. Many of the delicacies are sold right on site or at Dorfladen Ehrwald.

Dorfladen Ehrwald

Regional products take centre stage at Dorfladen Ehrwald. Alongside local produce and beverages, organic cosmetics and personal care products as well as homemade decorative items complement its small but exquisite range of products.

Metzgerei Razenberger

Metzgerei Razenberger sells delicacies from the forests and meadows of the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena. Meat, game, and speciality sausages from regional farms – or how about a jar of local honey? This business in Ehrwald offers everything under one roof that makes gourmets’ hearts beat faster.

Hofladen Biezu

In the afternoons from Thursday to Sunday, Hofladen Biezu in Ehrwald sells regional specialities. Smoked bacon, various speciality sausages, spreads, lards and bread: everything you need to turn your next snack into a culinary feast. Gourmets can also choose from a variety of meats – pork or beef. Jams, liqueurs and cosmetics round off the range of homemade products offered on site.

Tuftl Alm

Tuftl alm is open daily from Mai to mid-October. At the hut on the pasture, guests are served tasty traditional meals. A great option for all those who have acquired a taste for the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena: homemade dairy products such as Tyrolean grey cheese, cheeses, buttermilk or butter.

Ines’ Dorfladen

Ines’ Dorfladen right at Bichlbach’s town centre boasts an exquisite selection of products: from regional farmers’ products, flowers, gifts and souvenirs to homemade cakes and pastries in the “coffee corner”. Every Friday, you can also buy freshly smoked trout. What’s more, Ines’ Dorfladen also provides catering services.

Laden mit Pfiff

Der kleine aber feine Laden liegt in Berwang und hat sich mittlerweile zum absoluten Insidertipp gemausert. Ein Besuch in Berwang ohne Einkehr im Laden mit Pfiff ist fast unmöglich. Jung und Alt trifft sich bei der Familie Riegelnegg zum Einkaufen, auf einen gemütlichen Plausch bei einem Feierabend-Absacker oder einfach um zu schauen, was es schon wieder Neues bei den Spezialitäten gibt.
